Are you called to missions as a family or as a single person,
but don't know how to sort through the many options? Do a
Crossroads DTS!
The
Crossroads Discipleship Training School is the same in purpose
as the DTS. The only difference is the CDTS seeks to minister
to people at all stages of life and is family friendly. It
is for those who are at a crossroad or are seeking new direction,
new vision and renewal in the Lord.
The
purpose of the DTS is to prepare messengers of the Gospel by developing
a daily walk with the Lord rather than just accumulating knowledge.
Our outreach focus is indigenous peoples around the world, and primarily
First Nations groups in Canada. The purpose of the CDTS can be broken
down into 4 parts:
TO
EQUIP the Christian messenger to grow in relationship
with God, providing a solid Biblical foundation and encouraging
the development of Christ-like character through the personal
application of truth.
TO
CHALLENGE the Christian messenger to become involved
in world evangelism with YWAM or other ministries, to awaken a
burden for reaching the unreached, to develop a vision for influencing
all areas of society, and to commit to strengthening the global
Body of Christ.
TO
IMPART to the Christian messenger an understanding
of Youth With A Mission International, its foundational values,
calling and opportunities for service.
TO
PREPARE Christians for service in the local church
and the local community.

The
CDTS is a five to six month program consisting of a 3-month lecture
phase, followed by a 2-3 month field assignment. Lectures are designed
to teach Biblical principles of discipleship. The focus is on the
character of God, Christian character and missions. The field assignment
is designed as an opportunity to put into practice that which you
have learned in the classroom, and in so doing, help fulfill the
Great Commission.

Field
Assignment (Outreach Location)
As
a base our heart is passionate for indigenous people around the
world. Our outreach locations have included: Canada, Alaska, Greenland,
Norway, Africa, Fiji and Guyana. Currently, the focus of the CDTS is to minister
among First Nations in Canada and North Amerika.
Daily
Schedule
Each
day begins with a time of mediating on God's word followed
by lectures and all base worship. Generally, we have twelve
hours of lecture a week as well as times for intercession
and worship. We will have times for fun, small groups, activities
and physical recreation. Some days or evenings will
be scheduled for evangelism or serving in the community (Westbank
First Nation and/or Kelowna Gospel Mission).
Work
Duties
Keeping
the campus running is also part of the school curriculum, so you
will be assigned your own work duty while in DTS. For approximately
two hours per day you will be involved with cleaning, maintenance
work, or cooking. The DTS is a very intense program. Be prepared
to stretch and grow in every direction!
How
about after the CDTS?
After
completing the Crossroads Discipleship Training School you can join
any of over 500 YWAM bases around the world in a combined effort
towards world evangelism, training and mercy ministry. The DTS is
also the prerequisite for additional training and degree programs
offered by the University of the Nations, YWAM's educational arm.
