Discipleship
Training Schools (DTS) aim to prepare messengers of the gospel,
helping students to know God in depth. The goal is to form
Christian character and establish Biblical relationships while
developing a daily walk with God. This intensive Christian
training course begins with a 12 week classroom phase followed
by a typically 12 week outreach.

The
Discipleship
Traing School (DTS), held each Fall (late September), is designed
to encourage students to develop in personal character, to cultivate
a living relationship with God, and to identify their unique individual
gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness
are special emphases throughout these courses, preparing the students
to reach current and future generations and answer the call to "Go
into all the world and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew
28:19).
A course
similar to the DTS is the Crossroads
Discipleship Training School (CDTS), which happens every spring
(March). The CDTS specifically focuses on the needs and concerns
of our older students (30+), such as second-career people and families
with children. Younger, single students are also welcome, and have
enjoyed and learned valuable lessons from the intergenerational
aspects unique to the Crossroads experience. CDTS outreaches travel
to various First Nations communities in Canada.
YWAM
Okanagan also offers a Korean
Discipleship Training School (KDTS) for Korean-speaking students,
with an intercessory prayer focus on both North & South Korea.
The goals and values are the same as the regular DTS; YWAM Okanagan
enjoys a rich diversity of multi-cultural and multi-language students
and staff. KDTS is held twice a year (March & September).
Our
English as
a Second Language (ESL) school is also a popular choice for
those wishing to increase their working knowledge of English. Some
ESL graduates stay on at YWAM Okanagan to participate in one of
the DTS schools.
There is an ESL course of approximately 5 months in the fall,
and a 3 month course in the spring.
